Celebrating 25 Years of Innovation at BDD

This year marks a major milestone for BDD: our 25th anniversary. It’s a testament to the tireless commitment and passion of everyone who has contributed to BDD since its inception (as Bio-images Research Ltd) in 2000. It has been a journey defined by scientific breakthroughs, successful partnerships, and a drive to redefine early-stage pharmaceutical development. 

 

A Quarter-Century of Growth and Excellence 

What began as a spin-out based on academic research has evolved into a global partner for pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Over the past 25 years, BDD has specialised in bridging the gap from “concept to clinic,” helping our partners develop and test robust, innovative, and patient-centric drug products. 

We have worked with more than 80% of the world’s largest global pharmaceutical companies but also had the privilege to support the smallest biotech start-ups to bring their groundbreaking products to life. 

Throughout this journey, BDD has developed an extensive patent portfolio and has patents granted across 37 territories. And in developing proprietary technologies such as OralogiK™ and CologiK™, we have forged new frontiers in oral controlled and timed-release dosage forms, enabling the development of products that would otherwise have been impossible. Key to our success has been our dedication to scientific rigour, our integrated approach to formulation development and rapid clinical read-out, and our ongoing research into improved drug delivery systems. Our knowledge of how products work in the human body, developed from years of working with gamma scintigraphic imaging gives us an unparalleled insight into designing successful drug products.
